Blessings All Around

thankful

This November marks my sixth year anniversary. Each year as I reflect back on the girl I used to be, I am amazed at the transformation I have undergone in the years that have followed. This year has been a doozy, there’s no getting around it! The move to Nebraska was a big decision for me and took a lot of faith on my part. There were more moments than not, that I felt as though I were leaping out into the darkness; unsure of whether or not stable ground lay ahead. I left behind my business, which I had worked very hard to build and was doing quite well, all of the friends and  acquaintances I’d made and left a place that felt very safe and secure, where people knew my name, who I was, what I did and that I was damn good at it, to move to a place where they had never heard of me and didn’t know me from the next gal.  Just that one thing, in and of itself, was extremely scary for me.

The move to Nebraska has been so good though!  I would be ungrateful, to say the least, if I did not recognize that fact. The changes in culture, weather and location have led to changes in our home, all for the positive. Those who know me well know of the concerns I had about moving so far from home…rest assured, all is well.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to take a moment to recognize some of my greatest blessings. My love for, trust and faith in, my Heavenly Father and His Son is what keeps my head above water every single day. Following His promptings has never once led me to a decision I’ve regretted, including the move to Nebraska. I am grateful too, that I live in a country where I am given the right to worship as I choose.

Of course, my children will always be a the top of this very long list, I am touched each day by their sweetness and loving ways. Now don’t get me wrong, they have their moments when I’d like to sell them to the next circus passing through town…just like every other mother in the world. Lol. They remain my biggest sense of accomplishment, and will forever be so. Watching them not only interact with each other, but also in the different scenarios they encounter on a daily basis, is an amazing experience that I am truly honored to be able to be a part of.

I’m thankful for my parents, my siblings and my grandparents as well.  Each of them, by being a part of my life, have had an effect on me and who I am today.  I wouldn’t be who I am without them.  I’m thankful for those people who have been in my life that have taught me lessons, some of them which hurt more and were much harder to learn than others, but have had an immense impact on making me a better person.

I’m thankful for all of you who  support  me, those of you who read my posts and those of you who take the time to give me your feedback. I can’t become better at what I do without your suggestions, so thank you very much!!  I’m thankful for the people in my life that have been placed there, always at the perfect time, that enhance my life in a way that only they could.  I’m grateful for my journey and all that I’ve learned from it, not only my journey to better health but also my journey to being the girl that I was meant to be all along.  I’m a firm believer that NOBODY has ever, or will ever be, created to be a wallflower. We were all meant to be happy and enjoy life to the fullest. I’m grateful that I am able to do just that. I hope each and every one of you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
